STEELERS PUMPED ALL THE WAY TO D1
Despite suffering their second straight 7-2 defeat, first on Tuesday to the Toronto Stingers, and then on Wednesday to the now 5-0 Pumped, the Steelers are now officially moved up to D1…go figure. Actually, Pumped was also moved up, but to C division. So the Steelers new division will include The Peckers and the Toros who moved up from D2 and 4 other teams that were in D1 already. The Stingers got to stay in D2. Enough with the division movement. The story on Wednesday night can be summed up quickly by penalty section of the score sheet. If you take a look at it, you will see that the Steelers section is full while the Pumped side is just about empty. In fact, the Steelers were shorthanded for 20 minutes of the 32 minute game and those penalties led to 5 powerplay goals by Pumped. However, the Steelers shouldn't feel too bad about things as not many of those penalties were actually deserved. The Steelers were once again without a number of their regulars including K-Man who was playing with Mickey at Disney, Olesh who had an infection, Mark Serdan tending to family matters, Derek Chow was burning the midnight oil at work, Nick Richard had the night off as he is slowly working his way back into the line up and Greg Nolan, well, um, not sure, 2nd night in a row no notice, 2nd night in a row, Nolan's on the hook for a round.
Scoring Summary:
Didulka G 1 (5) A 0
Anderson G 1 (2) A 0
Carvalho G 0 A 1 (4)
Romaniuk G 0 A 1 (4)
Rossborough G 0 A 1 (1)
